GrowNYC is an environmental organization working to build and rejuvenate community gardens and urban farms in all five boroughs of New York City, and support even more gardens through volunteer days, technical assistance, and more. Funding from the Venable Foundation has helped advance the organization’s work to help more than a million New Yorkers by providing essential sustainability services. “Support from the Venable Foundation enables us to sustain essential programs that all New Yorkers depend on, including our Greenmarkets and Farmstands throughout the city, offering reliable access to fresh, locally grown foods. It also supports the creation and maintenance of community gardens, zero-waste initiatives like textile recycling and free swap events, and hands-on environmental education for individuals of all ages.
