Venable Foundation Annual Report | FY2022

Venable grantees continued to create meaningful change in our office communities. Collectively, those nonprofits reached 46 million people through their services in 2022. These amazing organizations include Human-I-T, which used its funding to distribute computers to kids in Los Angeles and provided digital literacy training; DC Central Kitchen, which provides culinary job training and supports food equity, preparing thousands of daily meals for food-insecure adults and schoolchildren; and Hearts to Home Furnishings, which outfits first-time apartments for young adults who are aging out of the foster care system in New York City. The Foundation continued its tradition of awarding significant Impact Grants to meet a critical need. This year we disbursed $480,000 to 12 nonprofit organizations focused on the needs of unhoused individuals in our communities. Notable projects created by Impact Grantees have included operational support for a homeless shelter, underwriting the hiring of mental health clinicians, street outreach, and a mobile shower program in under-resourced neighborhoods. Details on these exceptional nonprofit organizations can be found throughout this report. We invite you to read this update and learn more about the good works of and engagement by each of these deserving grant recipients. As we look ahead, we are excited and hope you will join us in celebrating the landmark 40th anniversary of the Venable Foundation in 2023. We are humbled and honored to provide consistent and growing support to the communities that we, at the firm, call home. Lindsay B. Meyer President, Venable Foundation
