Miriam’s Kitchen Miriam’s Kitchen collaborates across sectors to help end chronic and veteran homelessness in Washington, DC. The city is currently at the cusp of ending long-term homelessness, and Miriam’s is investing heavily in staffing to help DC implement housing vouchers effectively and efficiently to reach this goal within the next three years. In 2022, the Venable Foundation awarded $75,000 in impact grant funding to support Miriam’s expansion across all departments, from personnel to food and supplies, resulting in a budget increase of 30% for the year. The funding will allow its Permanent Supportive Housing program to serve 150 additional clients and add team members to its Homeless Street Outreach program to assist with case management and moving people from encampments to housing. “Miriam’s Kitchen is proud to have been named a 2022 impact grantee by the Venable Foundation. We extend heartfelt gratitude to their team as they continue to partner with us to end chronic homelessness in the District of Columbia.” – Scott Schenkelberg, CEO
