Venable Foundation Annual Report | FY2022

The Night Ministry The Night Ministry’s mission is to provide human connection, housing support, and health care to those who are unhoused or experiencing poverty in Chicago. In 2022, the Venable Foundation awarded the organization $25,000 in impact grant funding to support its health outreach program and help purchase two new Health Outreach Buses. These buses – fully equipped with a nursing office, a confidential space for HIV and STI testing, and a hospitality area to greet visitors – bring basic medical care and referrals to unhoused and medically vulnerable individuals in diverse neighborhoods across Chicago six days per week. The funding has helped the Night Ministry with its overarching goal to provide vulnerable individuals with the support, resources, and confidence necessary to overcome their obstacles and improve their circumstances. “We are grateful for funding from the Venable Foundation, which supports us as we work alongside Chicago’s most vulnerable residents in advocating for their immediate physical, emotional, and social needs. Thank you for believing in our mission and for partnering with us in helping the individuals and families we serve improve their housing and health and achieve greater stability in their lives.” – Erin Ryan, Interim President and CEO
