At Venable, we have long understood the importance of incorporating a range of perspectives into the solutions we offer our clients. To this end, we apply a multipronged approach to recruiting, retaining, and promoting diverse talent. Venable is a proud member of the Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity (LCLD) and hosts 1L LCLD Scholars each summer. Through our robust affinity groups – Women Attorneys at Venable (WAVe), the Venable Success Network (VSN) for lawyers of color, and LGBTQ @ Venable – we actively promote career growth and wellness for our diverse attorneys. And we actively seek out client partnerships that provide opportunities for junior or mid-career diverse lawyers to showcase their abilities. Our commitment is reflected in the growth opportunities within our firm for all our diverse attorneys. Forty percent of our 24-person board consists of women and racially diverse members – nearly double the typical representation on boards at comparable firms. Twenty-five percent of the firm’s 15-member management committee are women and/or racially diverse. Two of our four divisions are led by women or racially diverse attorneys, and women and racially diverse partners chair or co-chair 15 of our 32 practice groups.
